to Give Keynote Address at We Move Forward Conference on March 8,
International Women’s Day!
It’s confirmed – Almas Jiwani, President of United Nations WOMEN Canada, will fittingly give an inspirational talk at the We Move Forward conference held on Isla Mujeres, the Island of Women, Mexico on March 8, the proclaimed ‘UN Day for Women’s Rights and World Peace.’ She will speak to the significance of International Women’s Day, gender equality, and ‘The Power of One’. A fiercely vocal champion for gender equality, Ms. Jiwani is internationally renowned for her efforts to encourage women’s social, economic and political empowerment. This commitment has taken her around the world to participate in speaking engagements that enrich lives and uplift the status of women. In 2012, Ms. Jiwani made history as a state visitor in Pakistan when she addressed one million women on gender inequality. She has addressed over 400 parliamentarians from 42 countries on the benefits of economically empowering women. Ms. Jiwani has sat on panels and shared platforms with Nobel Peace Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu, spiritual guru Deepak Chopra and renowned rock star and humanitarian Bono of U2. She expressed that it is her way to meet and connect with the attendees at We Move Forward, and that she is looking forward to participating in this esteemed event.
